Distribution and wholesaler Music Box Leisure, having secured an agreement with Sainsbury's to provide an e-commerce website, approached great fridays to formulate a site that would allow customers to shop online for multimedia following the UK stores announcement to move into multimedia sales.

Sainsbury's are the first major customer to launch on MBL's new e-commerce platform, carrying a catalogue of music, video, games and books. They required a site and back end development that would be able to deal with the amount of requests that the site would generate, including search options and stock information.

We undertook a discovery stage, looking in depth at potential user experiences for implementation on the application. As the site was to be an extension of the existing Sainsbury’s site, it required the necessary branding. We wanted a simple and uniformed integration with the existing Sainsbury’s branding. We created a unique front-end system that would allow customers to order the necessary products without fuss.

The result was a site that faithfully conformed to the existing Sainsbury’s design layout, and allowed for the easy search tools and navigation.
