British tabloid institution The Sun approached great fridays looking to refresh Sunbeams, a microsite campaign that sets out to find Britain’s cutest baby.

The Sun felt that Sunbeams needed a revamp, requiring a new page that included a brief description of the campaign, a search function, a simple upload process, gallery feature and share via Facebook and Twitter option. The Sunbeams page had to slot in alongside the Sun’s existing website, and feature banners and sidebars that could incorporate external content.

Having run through the user experience designs, great fridays created several designs to demonstrate the layout we felt the pages should adhere to. Once these had been approved we set about adding page utilities, making sure page navigation and functions were easy to grasp, while creating a site that is light, simple to use and parent-friendly.

Since launch the site’s been a huge success, with several thousand entries clocked up within the first few days of the launch.
