Gucci/
iPad & iPhone
As Gucci mark their 90th birthday, the prestigious Italian brand required an iPad application that delivered an exclusive shopping experience for users; fusing fashion, culture and brand into one seamlessly elegant digital product.
Gucci approached digital publishers MERI Media looking for an application that allowed users to experience the world of Gucci at the touch of a button. Following on from the work we undertook designing a framework on which MERI Media could publish content, great fridays were asked to build a framework specifically for the Gucci application.
great fridays provided advice and planning for MERI Media, as well as the build and component testing for the publication. The framework was written using Cocoa Touch, Objective C, and the content was described using bespoke XML based mark-up.
Taking full advantage of the iPad, the Gucci Style application immerses users in a rich, engaging and interactive environment, allowing them to locate their nearest Gucci retailer, keep a wish list, purchase music, browse editorial features and, most importantly, peruse and purchase the latest looks. The application also features a stunning 360-degree interactive feature for viewing special edition accessories.
Since launching, the Gucci Style application has received a great deal of attention, having been placed in both the 'New and Noteworthy' and 'App of the Week' sections of the iTunes store, marking yet another accolade for the partnership between great fridays and MERI Media.
